Eating good food playing awesome games! Running around the island trying to get away frowm Amron after stealing cookie dough! Mom making buns! Dad sitting on the counter eating nuts and candy! Love having people over for dinners! Tyanna
So many good memories; Dad eating cereal before he went to the bush, making lunches for everyone,So clean and SO messy. Cleaning out cupboards with Mom. Eating Sunday dinners and us kids doing dishes, Dad always let Mom have the day off. Endless sweeping and mopping. Ezra and Aaron polishing the floor right after we moved in, that was a terrible punishment! I am sure Mom made us do that for a couple of years before she decided that mopping would be enough. Birthday parties around the table, extended family dinners, eating on the stairs. Sitting on the cupboards and chatting while we all ate lunch. Aaron and his Nachos Butter - churn.Sitting on the kitchen floor talking on the phone to friends for hours. Where I learned to cook, dropped a spoon in the blender while it was going, had jello boil over on the stove, (ya try cleaning that up!) Dad trying to teach me how to flip pancakes
The smell of homemade cookies, buns, cinnamon rolls, and just about anything else. Big Sunday dinners; always had someone over for dinner and it was always so fun. Always sweeping/ moping the floors. Sitting on the cupboards talking to friends till curfew or eating lunch together after church. Running around and around the island trying to run away from tyanna or kayla. Towel whipping wars. lots of cooking and cleaning. scrubing the outside of the cupboards with toothbrushes.
I thought the cupboards were blue! Just kidding but that is how I remember the kitchen and with the old bar stools. MY SEAT by Dad and when others would try to take it. Waterfights, mopping the floor by hand, loads of tables set up for rook tournaments and of course the smell of fresh buns. Dad eating Shreddies or raisin bran and reading the Church News or the Omineca Express Bugle. Running around the island when we would come home so excited to be there. Jumping off the step to the living room and eating, eating, eating. Ice cream all the time! Nachos on Sunday and Mom eating hot dog sandwiches with Ketchup . . . yummy. When mom was gone Dad making rice and oatmeal all the time! And of course big Sunday dinners with a massive steak, buns, and fruit punch!
Scones, lucky dollar pizza, buns, cinnamon rolls, cookies, sunday dinner, steak... ohh wait this is not about food.
I remember Dad's scriptures open with his cereal bowl sitting on the island while he ate before heading to work so early. Family scriptures. Ice cream, lots of ice cream. Water fights (I would never let my kids do that). How about moping the floor on our hands and knees. Did that once because we didn't go to bed. Guess what I do with my kids?
How about a whole loaf of bread set out every morning while Teija is making lunches. Brown bread, too much peanut butter and not much jam. Just making me thirsty.
Coming in for lunch while working outside was always fun.
