Blue Room
This was Teija's room at first, and it had pink and white flowerly wallpaper over the whole thing... I don't know what after that.... after Teija moved out Tyanna moved in to this one. Then it became Janae's. (Yes I stayed in the same room for my whole life. I felt like I would be abandoning my life if I switched rooms). This room mostly reminds me of curling hair for some reason. I guess cause it had a dresser/ mirror with bench to sit on, so we always curled hair in this room. This picture doesn't show all the shelves to the left, but I painted them. All of the grad dresses and Teija's wedding dress were in the closet in this room forever. All of Janae's 'stuff'' on the shelves.
I felt pretty lucky to get to choose the color that went into the room. I really wanted a baby blue. Its a good color but I think the only reason I liked it so much was because that was tyanna's favorite color at the time and I wanted to be just like her haha. Then mom picked out the quilt in Utah and I really didn't like it for some reason, but it grew on me after a while and it looked good. I loved the night stand and always hated it when it got cluttered with things I liked to see the pretty white paint. There was always a bunch of random nic nacks on the side shelves.
Many long nights having sleepovers and climbing out the window to sit on the roof and watch the stars or the sunset. moving my bed to the window so I could watch the stars and the Christmas lights and think about how awesome life was. Janae
Used to be Teija's room with lovely wall paper and she had a huge picture frame with her blessing dress and baby picture in it I always thought that was cool that she had that. Then I was lucky enough to move in with her for awhile don't know how she thought of that, but I was so excited to be with my big sister. Then it became my room after she left then down the road it was Janae's. Amron did the shelves and I thought that was cool that he did that and it looks awesome!Lots of times doing hair in the room and crying cause didn't want my hair done! good times! Tyanna
Big Room
It was boys room forever and remember always running in there and them always getting mad.I will never forget mom and dad were gone one day and Amron had us girls come into the room and he had a awesome idea so we were laying on his bed and he said he had a list for us to do and we had to get it done as fast as we could and see who the winner would be. So us girls thought it was cool, not knowing that it was all his jobs to do! We did it though and found out later! I got to pick the new colors when I moved in and I still love the colors in there! It was awesome moving in there,so cool to have a huge room all to myself! Tyanna
This was the boys' room (Ezra, Aaron and Amron)
It had dark blue paint, with a geese wallpaper border at first. Then Amron moved downstairs and the twins got a basketball border. I remember taking down all the geese wallpaper. Us girls were helping mom because it was a surprise for the boys to get the new sports wallpaper. After it was done I thought it was so cool, and wanted to have a basketball themed wallpaper border in my room.
After Ezra and Aaron moved out, Tyanna got this room. For whatever reason I remember one time us three younger girls (me Tyanna and Janae) were super hyper one night and we were jumping on the boys' beds and giggling and yelling and I clearly remember having my pink minnie mouse night gown on and I think the boys were at Bball Practice, because I don't remember them being there. Anyway we were running from room to room, jumping on the boys' beds mostly when we heard my dad yell " GIRLS!!! quiet down up there!!!!" I remember we all giggled ourselves silly and tried to be quiet, but you know how that can go for little kids. I think he ended up having to come up and put us in our beds.
I also remember Amron had to sleep up here on Christmas Eve and one year, Dad said I had to ask Amron if it was time to get up yet. I remember going in there and asking Amron if we could get up yet, probably 3 or 4 times before 6am.... waiting for Christmas morning as a kid is like torture! Kayla
I remember the basketball wallpaper. I thought it was so cool and I wanted it in my room. I remember keeping an extra piece of it when I was young cause I was going to put it up on my wall. once the boys moved out tyanna moved in here and I got the blue room. I was so excited to have my own room! I remember painting it the colors it is now and putting the flooring in. I think amron did a lot of it. and tyanna got that big nice bed! it was so nice I remember always asking tyanna if I could sleep with her cause I wanted to sleep on the nice soft mattress. then once everyone was out of the house but me I basically lived in the blue room but slept in here cause the bed was so much nicer and I didn't have to clean my room in order to sleep on my bed. But sometimes I would get scared easily in that room by myself because of all the empty dark space and it echoed pretty good.
I remember lots of talks with Emily Tiffany and Jill in this room. Janae
Yellow Room
So this was my bedroom. When I was little it had pink flowery wall paper, and then a border of pink teddy bears. Next it was a soft yellow, with a purple themed flowered border of wallpaper. I had a matching yellow/purple flower quilt and matching curtains too. Then just a couple years ago we painted it this color and got new quilt etc.hmmmm what does my room remind me of? nightly phone calls with friends, journal writing, sleepovers with friends and staying up super late probably gossping, staying up really late reading. I remember wanting to sleep in the closet sometimes. Thought it would be cool to have my own little personal space in the closet. haha. I used to lay on my bed and look at the stars out my window. Climbing out my window to hang out on the roof - all the time! Around Christmas time, I would fall asleep always looking out at the lights hanging above my window and think of Reindeer and Santa, and I would listen for them on Christmas eve. :)
I remember the boys would always come in our room, turn on the lights and throw our blankets off, then yell at us to come down for scriptures. Oh I hated when they did that. Sometimes they would come in with the vacuum, because they had to vacuum upstairs or they couldn't go to practice or something. hated that too.
-Seems like I have ALWAYS had that dresser... -maybe I have.. the dresser just makes me think about all the things I used to have on it. My music playing spinning horse. A teddy bear. Winter decor in winter. Pictures on the mirror. Medals hanging off of side of mirror. Kayla
The three girls shared this room when I was young. we had that double bed and the single blue matress. we always fought over who got the single cause we didn't want to sleep with the other. kayla and I would always fight about where the line was on the bed. it looks much better now yellow than with all the wall paper and pink colors. I remember kayla always on the phone with some friend or boy late at night and I would be mad at her on the inside cause she I could hear her from my room. when kayla left I would sometimes go in here to write in my journal or talk on the phone cause it was always clean and rarely used. Janae
Upstairs Bathroom
Cleaning it! Always getting ready! Remember Ezra and Aaron flexing in the mirror all the time! Seemed we were always finding room in there to get ready when we all lived at home! It was always so warm in there I miss that! Tyanna

Office
"How are the cows out again!?!" I loved gazing out the window, watching it snow,
rain or whatever. I remember all our old files in the drawer and the books. I
also remember when it was the baby room and there was a door between the
bathroom and there. I was jealous when I was older that it was so organized, I
remember never being able to find a pen when I was a kid! I would die to have an
office like that now . . . maybe faster internet though:-) Ezra
This used to be the baby room for awhile and there was the door that connected to their bathroom and we would always chase eachother around all the time. I got to stay in that room when I broke my ankle and I thought that was pretty cool! Dad paying bills and going through stuff. Cleaning out the office was not a fun project! checking emails and getting out coloring stuff to color. So many good books were in there to read! Tyanna

*I picture Dad sitting on the right chair, paying bills, reading, studying scriptures, going through bank statements etc. Staring out the window, usually seeing some animal that got out... why did the cows ALWAYS get out??? I swear I was the one who spotted it a lot. I loved going through the cupboards that had old pictures, wedding announcements and letters. Game cupboard was in the bottom corner. I remember all the crayon/felt/pencil crayon containers, searching for the ones I wanted to use. Coloring books, Chatting with friends, left top corner cupboard had a billion different cords, batteries and 'stuff' that no one really knew what to do with. Hiding underneath the counter tops when playing hide and seek. Waving to Dad when he was coming in from the barn, or work and yelling out the window to say hi. Kayla
i guess this was my room for a little bit, not that i remember that but i always wanted it to be my room for some reason before it was an office. The door into mom and dad's bathroom was awesome. getting chased by kayla and tyanna countless times and slamming the doors to try and get away before they pinned me and tortured me. late nights reading and doing homework on the floor and then falling asleep (happened alot in grade 11 and 12). checking email, facebook. Dad doing books when i was younger, last two years home they always did that at the shop. always washing the glass door after the nieces, nephews were over b/c of all the finger prints they left. Seeing the cows out all the time out that window. Janae
I loved this as the baby room, it was always so quiet and peaceful. We used to
always run around the circle between this and Mom's room, it was quite the
runway. I loved looking out the window and seeing the horses and Molly. Mom
sitting in there in her curlers and pj.'s. Dad going through bills. The game
cupboard so full you couldn't find anything and all the pictures that seem to be
everywhere! Teija
Laundry Room
Straining the mile and washing the strainer! How many thousands of times, I
hated that job. It always stunk--literally. I remember the old washer and drying
and thinking the new ones sounded like an airplane. The old vacuum box with the
big long hose. Washing muddy shoes in the sink, washing greasy or barnyard
hands, jumping down the laundry chute when we were young or climbing up it.
Biggest thing is definitely straining milk and bun dough rising! Ez
Always straining the milk in there and washing that up! Washing muddy boots, soaking really dirty pans in there from dinner. Getting out christmas decorations in far left bottom cupboard was always hard to do cause it was hard to reach in there. playing in the laundry shoot.Giving kids baths in the sink! Putting the vaccume in the closet. Tyanna
Washing old, dirty, muddy shoes in the sink. Doing laundry. Mom kept the big bread pan in the right bottom cupboards. there were also gift bags and a couple shoe boxes down there. The far left bottom cupboards had random Christmas decorations. Middle cuboards were cleaning supplies, and when we milked the cow that's where the milk strainer was. Probably one of my main memories was straining fresh milk, and then having to wash it all up afterwards.... least favorite job EVER. The vacuum was kept in the right closet over there and up above were table cloths, sewing stuff, fabric, pins and needles, glue gun and other odds and ends all neatly organized in containers. The left top cupboards had all kinds of laundry soaps, bug dope, other soaps, light bulbs, the iron, spray bottle, and stuff like that. I looked out this window multiple times to discover 'the cows are out' once again....Would always watch Dad feeding the cows, or unloading wood.Giving the boys baths in the sink. Putting really dirty dishes in the sink to soak. Changing the laundry and organizing laundry piles. Thomas carved our family names and date in the laundry shoot the last time we were there. Kayla
The vacuum was always in the closet to the right, and all cleaning supplies and random things like bug dope and sun screen were in the cupboards to the left. for some reason i think of the guy that used to always come in and fix our wash machine. seems like he was always coming over to fix something. washing muddy shoes in the sink, and seeing the cows out, or dad working in the garden, or on the tractor or some equipment in the yard. straining the milk even though it was kayla or tyanna's job and they made me do it, cause mom said that they were just supposed to tell me it was my job. Janae
It's funny that everyone remembers washing the strainer and hating that job, me too. I can still smell that smell!! Mom always had bun dough rising, the sink was always dirty from someone washing their muddy shoes in it and not rinsing it out. Always so much laundry, I don't know how many hours Mom spent in there. Sorting laundry. Old vacuum box, cleaning out the rainbow vacuum filter in there, yuck!

Boot Room
This is the boot room. Right to the right when you walk in the door.
Well like so many things it never seemed that organized as it did in later
years. After seeing one of the Albertson's wearing a coat or hat or sweater I
remember proudly hanging it back up :0). When I picture it in my mind I don't
picture it like this I picture the old way, hats lining the top including those
old wrinkled cowboy hats that never got worn and all the mud and dirt and Mom
constantly mopping it up. I love just walking through the door after being away
for a long time and looking into the kitchen, the smell of the house and fresh
buns. Standing there meant you were finally HOME. Ezra
Ya moving all the shoes and mopping then putting them back. The old wheat grinder Mom always grinding wheat back there, and it was always early in the morning seemed like. There were so many coats and hats hanging in there. Tyanna
Before there were cubbies up top there were hooks for hats.... the boys and Dad had a ton of hats. Cleaning, sweeping, mopping. Mud and wet (and sometimes manure) from winter boots and shoes, floor never stayed clean for long. When I was young me tyanna and janae would be in charge of moving all the shoes away from the wall while mom swept and mopped, then we would have to put them all back all nice and organized. It's funny now, but I hated that job.Kayla
moving the shoes so mom could sweep and mop it and then putting them back. all the hats up on the top board. it always looked pretty empty when everyone was gone but me, mom and dad. this floor was always dirty and i had to sweep it all the time!!! (even though it continued to hurt my ears :) Janae
So many hats and coats!! Never stayed clean for long, stepping in water, or snow, or mud. Trying to walk on the rug into the kitchen so I wouldn't have to take my shoes off. The old phone hanging on the wall with the really long cord, talking on it out on the porch so I could hear. Seeing the cord out the door so Dad could talk on it without wearing his greasy clothes in the house. I remember when we would come home from trips and the whole thing would be full of duffel bags and pillows and blankets! I just loved the smell, as soon as you walk in you could smell Mom, homemade buns and home.
